What Not to Flush

City Public Works has recently encountered problems with many wastewater pipes. If you have clogged pipes between your residence and the street, you will have to pay for the repair, because the City will not fix it. Most times the problems are directly due to people flushing materials down the toilet that they should not. For the health of the community, and to avoid a potentially costly repair bill, only flush toilet paper and approved hygiene items.

Help Stop Sewer Problems

  • Only flush toilet paper and similar items that are approved for sewer and septic systems.
  • Do not flush paper towels, rags, towels, feminine hygiene products, baby wipes, or socks.
  • Do not flush disinfecting wipes that you use to clean common areas of your home or workplace.
